HondaPH launches the All-New Legend 3.5 Sport Hybrid SH-AWD

Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. (HCPI) recently launched the All-New Legend 3.5 Sport Hybrid SH-AWD at the Solaire Grand Ballroom. Revolving around “Smart Exhilarating Luxury” grand concept, this vehicle showcases Honda’s highest level of craftsmanship as it imprints its mark in the local luxury segment. The All-New Legend is a fusion of three customer values – pride and prestige of ownership, advanced features and technology, and exhilarating driving experience.

Honda’s entry to the luxury vehicle segment combines opulence with state of the art driving technology. The All-New Legend 3.5 Sport Hybrid Super Handling All-Wheel Drive, has a high-output and fuel-efficient hybrid system that combines one engine with three electric motors.

The All-New Legend has an “aero-fused” exterior motif. It has a low, wide and athletic stance. Look at it from the side, its sharp upswept bodylines create a stylish yet dynamic appeal. Aggressive, cleverly designed and engineered 19-inch Noise-Reducing Alloy Wheels complete the commanding look.

Honda’s “man-maximum, machine-minimum” design philosophy is very evident. The cabin is roomy supplemented with acoustic glass windshield and windows. The “Dual Personal Structure” interior concept was taken to a higher standard, fitted with premium, high quality, and soft touch materials throughout the cabin with luxurious wood and metal accents. Perforated black Milano leather seats are standard in the All-New Legend. Climate controlled 8-way power with 4-way lumbar support seats are also standard for the driver and front passenger.

Powering the All-New Legend is the Earth Dreams Technology V6 3.5 L direct injection i-VTEC with Variable Cylinder Management (VCM) engine mated to a 7-speed dual clutch transmission (DCT) with an integrated high-performance electric motor. This allows the All-New Legend to deliver a total maximum output of 380ps at 6500 rpm and 370Nm at 4700 rpm of torque making it the most powerful Honda car to date.

Equipped with a new fully electronic push-button gear selector, eliminating the conventional shift-lever, this allows the driver to easily select a drive mode with a push of a button.

Mounted in the rear is the Twin Motor Unit (TMU) and an intelligent power unit where the high-power lithium-ion batteries are located. Each rear motor is independently controlled and can provide either drive or deceleration power to its wheel in any ratio. Called the advanced torque vectoring system this provides highly stable handling performance in a wide range of driving situations. Placed at the center of the vehicle is a power drive unit that controls the three electric motors. This makes up the All-New Legend’s advanced hybrid system.

Honda’s advanced hybrid system automatically combines front-wheel drive, rear-wheel drive, or all-wheel drive with Engine drive, Electric Vehicle Drive or Hybrid drive depending on the driver’s inputs and driving conditions to ensure optimal performance and outstanding fuel economy. This powertrain has power output similar to a V8 engine but with 4-cylinder like fuel consumption.

The All-New Legend has an abundance of convenience and safety technology features. With an Advanced Driver-Assistive System called Honda SENSING in the All-New Legend, cutting-edge sensing technologies aids the driver to prevent or effectively respond to dangerous driving situations.

Honda SENSING is steps towards the realization of a collision-free society, part of Honda’s global safety vision where everyone can safely use the road. Receiving information from two different devices, a millimeter-wave radar that can be found in the front grille and the other is a monocular camera mounted high behind thewindshield.

By having these sensors, new convenience and safety functions are now available in the All-New Legend such as Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS), Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) with Low Speed Follow (LSF), and Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS).

CMBS is a collision-prevention system, designed to alert the driver when a potential collision is detected. This system also reduces the vehicle speed to help minimize collision severity when it is deemed unavoidable.

ACC with LSF helps maintain constant vehicle speed and a set following interval behind another vehicle. The LSF function lets the All-New Legend to follow the detected vehicle until a complete stop.

LKAS provides steering input to help keep the vehicle in the middle of the lane you’re on, providing tactile and visual alerts if the driver is drifts out of the lane.

The LKAS visual alerts and ACC with LSF vehicle speed information can also be seen by the driver in the Honda Head Up Display, It can also display the tachometer and SH-AWD system operation.

Other vehicle safety systems which are standard in the All-New Legend are the Multi-view camera system with four wide angle cameras located on the front grille, right and left door mirrors and tailgate, Blind Spot Information (BSI), and Cross Traffic Monitor (CTM).

Additional safety features found in the All-New Legend are driver and front passenger airbags, driver and front passenger side airbags, side curtain airbags, and a driver’s knee airbag, Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA), Hill Start Assist (HSA), Front (2) and Rear (4) Parking Sensors, Emergency Stop Signal and a Pop Up Hood for pedestrian safety. There’s also the Electric Parking Brake (EPB) with Auto Brake Hold.

Other standard amenities are smart entry with push start button, power tilt and telescoping steering, power sunroof, expanded rear door sunshade, and dual screens – an 8-inch Navigation screen and a 7-inch touch screen, providing easy access to key functions such as air-conditioning, navigation and audio.

There’s the built-in ultra-premium Krell audio system with 14 speakers and an amplifier.

Look at the All-New Legend’s high-quality Jewel-Eye LED headlight. Its 8 LED bulbs and 16 precisely focused lenses give better visibility on the road in any condition. The front and rear fog lights, turn signal lights and tail lamps are also LED lit.

The All-New Legend is available in three colors: Crystal Black Pearl, White Orchid Pearl and Super Platinum Metallic with Black Milano Leather interior. Other exterior colors such as Gilded Pewter Metallic, Pomegranate Pearl and Graphite Luster Metallic are available upon order. Interior colors Seacoast Ivory Milano Leather and Brown Milano Leather are also available by order.

MUGEN and Modulo accessories are also made available which can be purchased individually or as a package for added convenience and style. Available MUGEN accessories are Carbon Fiber Front Lower Spoiler, Carbon Fiber Ducktail Spoiler, Sports Luggage Mat, and 20-inch Aluminum Wheel. The Modulo accessories on the other hand, include Front Corner Under Spoiler, Ducktail Spoiler, Door Lower Garnish and Mudguard.
