Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. (HCPI), recently announced the availability of the New City 1.5 E CVT Special Edition. The New City 1.5 E CVT Special Edition is equipped with new features exclusive to the Philippine market.
HCPI’s Research Planning & Development Team, together with Honda R&D Co., Ltd. Japan, found that Filipinos tend to look for a child-friendly vehicle that also protects occupants from the heat and airborne allergens. This led to the development of the New City 1.5 E CVT Special Edition. The product concept became “Passionate and Omotenashi (Japanese term for genuine hospitality)”, the New City 1.5 E CVT Special Edition offers added values in the areas of style, health and wellness, safety, and convenience.
The New City 1.5 E CVT Special Edition gets an exclusive, all-new Ruby Red Pearl but he Special Edition variant is also available in Gold Brown Metallic, and Taffeta White exterior colors. It also equipped wih UV Cut Glass windows for the front doors. This minimizes the penetration of UV rays and Infrared lights by approximately 99%, which is ideal for the Philippine tropical environment. There’s a speed-sensing Auto Door Lock system that activates at 15kph, but unlocks all doors when the shift lever is set to Park (P).
The key fob of the Special Edition gets a Panic Button. A long press of the Panic Button activates the vehicle’s alarm and flashes its headlights and park lights to attract attention.
For the additional health and wellness of passengers, the New City 1.5 E CVT Special Edition comes with a free Sharp Plasmacluster with Ion Technology. It purifies air, the plasmacluster reduces airborne allergens and microbes through increased number of negative ions and removes unwanted odors.
Under the hood is the 1.5 Liter i-VTEC engine with Honda’s Earth Dreams Technology Continuous Variable Transmission (CVT) with the Eco Assist system which features the ECON mode that controls the engine, drive-by-wire, transmission, and air-conditioning performance. The eco-coaching eco lamp is lights up when fuel efficient driving is detected.
This Special Edition joins the rest of HCPI’s all Euro-4 compliant line-up and will be available, with a suggested retail price of P819,000.
